Key Results

  • 40M+ events on Black Friday alone
  • 200M+ events processed in November
  • 2,000+ Shopify stores served simultaneously
  • Zero downtime during peak

The challenge

Client-side tracking has a fundamental reliability problem. Ad blockers, browser restrictions, iOS privacy changes, and third-party cookie deprecation all erode the data that Shopify merchants depend on to measure performance and optimize ad spend. The industry default, injecting tracking pixels into the browser, was becoming structurally unreliable.

Analyzify was built to solve this at the infrastructure level. Not by patching client-side tracking, but by moving the critical data pipeline to the server. The engineering challenge was significant: build a multi-layer tracking system that could serve thousands of stores simultaneously, handle the extreme traffic spikes of peak commerce periods, and deliver data to 10+ marketing platforms without gaps or downtime.

Black Friday is the proof test. If the infrastructure holds on the highest-traffic day of the year, it holds.

The architecture

Analyzify operates three layers of tracking simultaneously for every store it serves. The storefront layer captures events at the browser level across all customer interactions, product views, add-to-cart actions, and navigation. The purchase and checkout layer captures every transaction event, cart interaction, and checkout step with precision. The data persistence layer writes critical events to Analyzify’s own databases before forwarding, ensuring no event is lost in transit.

From this foundation, the pipeline splits into two paths. Advertising platform forwarding sends enriched event data to GA4, Google Ads, Meta Conversions API, TikTok, Bing, Pinterest, Klaviyo, Snapchat, and others in real time. The ClickHouse processing path captures and aggregates data for the merchant-facing analytics dashboard.

The full stack runs on AWS infrastructure, built in Golang.

The results

On Black Friday 2024, Analyzify processed over 40 million critical events across 2,000+ stores simultaneously. That figure covers purchase events, checkout interactions, cart actions, and other commercially significant data points. Visitor-level events are not included in that count.

Over the full month of November, the infrastructure processed more than 200 million events. Zero downtime. No data loss. Every merchant’s tracking continued operating through the highest-traffic period of the commerce calendar.

The same infrastructure delivers 98% purchase tracking accuracy day-to-day, with the Data Health Monitor running continuous checks to surface and flag any configuration issues before they affect data quality.
